In 2011, I created Kids Engineer! an after school program that combined my product design background, love of working with children and interest in merging science, technology and creativity. Geared to students in 1st — 4th grade. Kids Engineer! teaches principals of engineering through design and invention-building fun. Since its start, Kids Engineer! has been a lively and popular after school class at three all-girls schools in New York City and now, in the Jackson Hole Elementary Schools where I teach my workshops through pARTners. Here below are just a few examples of our science, design and technology projects. Kids Engineer! Kids of all ages delight in the Design Challenge: Can you build a wind-powered invention that will hover? Or fly high up into the sky?
